Wow 775 miles, one-quarter pound chili cheese dog, a venti latte, innumerable sodas and a foot-long BLT later and finally we arrived in Jackson, MS. Granted it was after 11pm.
That was a long, hard day in which we streaked through Texas, barely got a sniff of Louisiana and then came in the back door of Mississippi.
More to come on today’s adventure. We should be heading through Mobile and then down to St. Pete. Garmin tells me it’s about 11 hours and 730 miles. I’ve got to get going so we can get back on the road. The dogs were remarkably good thanks in no small part to the drugs.

Great to hear you 5 are making good progress on your journey south. Was wondering if you had time to stop and see the world’s largest armadillo in Texas or the Guinness Book of Records biggest Cajun crawdad in Louisiana? Safe trip.
